Shakira was raised a Catholic and while growing up in Barranquilla, she often performs for her teachers and fellow students in school but she was barred from joining the school choir in her second grade because her music teacher thought she had the voice of a goat because of her strong “Vibrato”

Some of her tracks that have charted number one in several countries include, Waka Waka which was the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Beautiful Liar, La Tortura among others.

Shakira’s career has spanned more than two decades with a catalogue of 145 songs and 80 million copies sold. She is a recipient of more of numerous awards which include three Grammy Awards, twelve Latin Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, thirty-nine Billboard Latin Music Awards, six Guinness World Records. She has also been named as the Female Latin Artiste of the Decade on two occasions, the 2000s and 2010s.

Shakira recently sold her 145 catalogues of songs to a UK-based art group, Hipgmosis but the detail of the transaction is unknown.

Shakira Relationship Status. 

She is the partner of Spanish Footballer, Gerard Pique and they have two kids Milan and Shasha who were born in 2013 and 2015 respectively. The duo met before the 2010 FIFA World Cup while Shakira was preparing for the Waka Waka song.
