Suspected Ibadan serial killer, Sunday Shodipe re-arrested after 12 days of jailbreak!
Police have re-arrested the prime suspect of the waves of ritual killings in within Ibadan, Sunday Shodipe after 12 days of escaping from police custody.
Sunday Shodipe escaped from prison on the 11th of August but was re-arrested today in Ibadan.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Olugenga Fadeyi confirmed his re-arrest to newsmen.
The suspected serial killer is said to be responsible for ritual killings in Moniya, Akinyele Local Government Area and some other places in Ibadan.
The suspected Ibadan serial killer had earlier escaped prison in suspicious circumstances but the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has ordered a thorough investigation to that effect according to a former police spokesman, Frank Mbah in a statement.
He said;
“The IGP, who condemned the unfortunate escape from the lawful custody of the suspect, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, to intensify efforts and ensure the prompt re-arrest of the fleeing suspect.”
“The CP has also been directed to speed up investigations into the circumstances that led to the escape of the suspect. All persons indicted in the escape are to be identified and made to face the wrath of the law.”
