Ted Danson is worlds away from shaggy haired Cheers lothario Sam Malone

Even the most ardent Ted Danson fan could be forgiven for doing a double take on Tuesday as the actor filmed his latest scenes for Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The veteran star, 74, plays a fictionalised version of himself in the long-running American sitcom, but he was unrecognisable while posing for an off-camera photo with daughter-in-law Lily Collins.

With a bald cap covering his thick head of hair, Danson looked more like comedian Larry David – the show’s follicly challenged leading man – as he relaxed between takes with the actress.
