Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has warned that the wave of terrorism and other forms of security challenges in the North will likely affect Southerners if they don’t help out.
Femi Fani-Kayode advised Southerners to stop mocking victims of terrorism in the North. Instead, they should work to ensure that peace is restored to the region.
Femi Fani-Kayode took to his verified Twitter handle to share this thought with his followers.
Southerners that mock the north & laugh at the travails they are going through in the hands of terrorists are ignorant & shortsighted. The fire that is burning down your neighbour’s house will end up burning yours as well if you do not help him to put it out. Stop gloating!
The North has witnessed various forms of attack in the past decade with the Boko Haram insurgents being the major actor and of recent armed bandits who have been responsible for recent kidnappings in the region.
The Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has continued to reiterate that it has technically defeated the terrorist group but the group hasn’t ceased in carrying out attacks.
However, troops of Operation Tura Takaibango in recent weeks have recorded a good number of victories over the terrorist group in the Northeast.
