The Weeknd is the most nominated artist this year, with 17 nominations.
He’s been nominated for best artist, top male artist, and top 100 artist, among others. Six prizes are up for grabs for his collaboration with Ariana Grande on the song “Save Your Tears (Remix).”
Doja Cat is the most successful female finalist, with 14 nominations including top artist, top female artist, and top hot 100 artist.
Olivia Rodrigo performed admirably as a first-time finalist, with nominations in 13 categories, including top artist, top new artist, top female artist, and top hot 100 artist.
Drake is up for 11 awards, including top artist, top male artist, top Billboard 200 artist, and top hot 100 artist, and holds the record with 29 BBMA wins.
Taylor Swift is a finalist in seven categories, making her the most decorated female BBMA artist of all time.
For “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and “Red (Taylor’s Version),” she is nominated for top artist and top female artist, as well as two albums in the top country album category.
Top Billboard global 200 artist, Top Billboard global excl. U.S. artist, Top Billboard global 200 song, and Top Billboard global excl. U.S. song are among the five new categories introduced this year.
Ed Sheeran has been named as a finalist in each of the four new global categories.
The “2022 Billboard Music Awards” will be broadcast live on NBC and streamed live on Peacock on Sunday, May 15 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
