They won't have money to buy weapons! - Sheikh Gumi on why bandits can't stop carrying out attacks! VideošŸ‘‡ 2

Kaduna-based Islamic cleric Sheikh Gumi has told Nigerians why banditry in the North especially might not end any time soon.

Sheikh Gumi who according to reports negotiated on behalf of the government for the release of the students abducted in Niger and Katsina recently, said bandits will run out of money if they stop their nefarious acts.

While speaking in an interview with AIT News on Tuesday, Sheikh Gumi added that the bandits don’t live a luxurious life. He revealed that they live in huts and sometimes they drink from the streams.

In February, Sheikh Gumi visited Tagina forest where he met with a certain Dogo Gide, leader of the bandits in the region as well as his fighters. The visit came days after 42 persons, including students and staff of the Federal Government Science College, Kagara were kidnapped.

Sheik Gumi, in his recent remarks, has been calling on the Federal Government to grant bandits amnesty.

He has also refuted the claims that bandits kidnapped students of Greenfield University, Kafuna in April. According to him, Boko Haram members are responsible for the abduction not bandits.
