Today host Allison Langdon ‘not happy’ to be overlooked by Channel Nine for election night duties
Today show host Allison Langdon is not impressed over Channel Nine’s decision to use Melbourne newsreader Alicia Loxley for its election night broadcast.
According to The Sunday Telegraph, Allison, 42, was ‘not happy’ the coveted election-night gig starring alongside prime-time Sydney evening newsreader Peter Overton was given to another presenter.Â
Langdon was reportedly so frustrated with Loxley’s new role, she raised her dissatisfaction two weeks ago with Nine’s director of news Darren Wick.

Nine denied the claims, with a spokeswoman insisting there had been no ‘tantrum’ from Langdon.
The Today Show lost another ratings battle earlier this month.
The breakfast television program came third after rivals, Channel Seven’s Sunrise on and ABC’s News Breakfast, every day this week, reported The Guardian.

The ratings slide was documented by OzTAM, marking more bad news for the show.
According to a report in The Sunday Telegraph, executives are planning on throwing ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ at the program. Â
A source close to the breakfast show says bosses are planning to make a number of changes including Scherri-Lee Biggs as permanent weather presenter.Â

Entertainment reporter Brooke Boney could also be made a ‘roving reporter’ for the show, according to the report.Â
However, the source told the publication it isn’t bad news for the show with Nine saying it has found its ‘mojo’ again this year.Â
