He sported a pocket watch and marched along the square as two horse and carriages pulled up alongside him.

The Nevers is set in England in the 1890s, and centres on a group of people who have mysteriously been imbued with distinct superpowers. Some can see the future, some grow 10-foot-tall, others can harness electricity.

It features an all-star cast including James Norton and Eleanor Tomlinson.

The Nevers has been commissioned for a Part 2, following the success of Part 1.

HBO decided to split the series into two parts after coronavirus halted production.

Only five episodes had been filmed when filming was halted in early 2020, with producers able to finish filming episode six in October last year.

It’s expected The Nevers Part 2 will air later in 2022, given the lengthy post-production to incorporate the show’s special effects.

James Norton, who plays Hugo Swann, previously admitted the HBO/Sky Atlantic show will ‘blow peoples minds’.

‘It’s so unpredictable and as a result it’s just so brave,’ he told the Radio Times. ‘That’s what makes the series unique, I think.

‘When you watch episode six, your mind will be blown. Ours was blown when we read it, so watching it is going to be an absolutely crazy experience!’

Of his new character, he added: ‘He’s a pansexual posh boy who runs this orgy club, and he blackmails his contemporaries. t’s an absolute joy to play him.’
