Gospel music act Tope Alabi released an emotional tribute in honour of the late Ibidun Ighodalo who died on Sunday in Port Harcourt.
Ms Alabi is widely known for her chartbursting gospel music and this dirge in honour of Ibidun, rendered in a mixture of Yoruba and English has a lot of people getting emotional about the late Ibidun.
Facebook user Dolapo Sanusi wrote: “Tope Alabi’s tribute2 Ibidunni made me cry…..I don’t know if it’s the pictures, wordings or tune of the song.”
A former beauty queen and wife of a popular Nigerian preacher, Ibidun’s death reportedlt frkm cardiac arrest prompted shock and sadness in the country.
Ighodalo, 39, was due to celebrate her 40th birthday next month, and had been traveling across the country to build isolation centers for coronavirus patients, according to family sources.
Through her Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation, the deceased provided grants for women to pay for IVF treatments and helped reduce the stigma around IVF in Nigeria.
