The presenter told The Times of her hard work: ‘People still assume Trinny London is funded by my boyfriend. The reality is that I have shed blood, sweat and tears on it during a very difficult time in my life.

‘It used to upset me. You don’t want anybody to make assumptions you know are incorrect. I used to fight them really hard. Now I think: that is your s**t, not mine.’

Trinny and Saatchi – who is worth around £170million – have been dating since 2013, following the businessman’s divorce from celebrity chef Nigella Lawson.

After running into financial trouble following the death of her ex husband Johnny Elichaoff while trying to start the business, she raised £60,000 by selling off items from her own wardrobe and eventually her own house.

She told The Telegraph: ‘I was not earning the money I had been. I couldn’t afford to live in the house I was living in, so I rented it out, and sold quite a few of my clothes.

‘I then did a small raise, which I used for product development. When that ran out, I sold some more clothes, then sold my house, because I couldn’t afford the mortgage.

‘It did take balls – it was very scary. But I knew I had no alternative. Nobody becomes a great entrepreneur from a place of comfort.’

In 2014 Johnny fell to his death from a car park roof after he ‘lost everything’ in a series of failed oil investments.

He and Trinny married in 1999 in London’s Knightsbridge and the couple had a child Lyla, now 18, together, before they divorced in 2009.

It comes after Trinny‘s body was branded ‘amazing’ by her fans after she showed off her secret to keeping trim and energised by jokingly slapping and pinching herself in an Instagram video earlier this month.

The TV star, who wore a striped bikini for the demo and even got into the shower to show the fans her slightly wacky routine at one point, was told by fans she looked ‘fab’ and that her muscle tone was ‘inspiring’.

Trinny told her followers: ‘Nothing like a slap and tap in the morning’ and explained: ‘I love a little self-care to get my mornings started.

‘Though it may seem brutal, there’s something so invigorating about a good old slap and tap – this energy isn’t all espresso-fuelled…’

She then showed off her routine and told fans: ‘Lots of you say to me ‘Where do you get your energy?’

Taking a brush to her body, she said: ‘You do gentle motions like this. And you wait till your skin gets a bit red. And really going up.’

Looking at her knees, she joked: ‘They talk to one another, they have a little conversation.’

After jumping off her bathroom unit and saying: ‘And you’ll feel…oh god.’

She added: ‘The other thing is exfoliating scrubs. Double whammy here so you push down and do the body special.’

After popping into the shower she told of another way to help cellulite: ‘Another thing is pinching and slapping.. why not?’

‘So you go like this and you pinch 6,7,8 quite hard. Do it on your stomach get the circulation going. Get the blood flowing.’

‘We need to move our bodies in ways it’s not used to moving so that it can always move all the time.’

Fans loved Trinny’s alternative energiser with one saying: ‘So pinching and slapping tonight it is then.’ Praising Trinny’s figure, one fan wrote: ‘Okay. But let’s talk about that bod! so healthy and radiant’.

Another said: ‘You look amazing Trinny. I’m crying with jealousy,’ while another added: ‘I just love you’.
