Troops kill Kidnap leader, rescue 32 hostages and recovered caches of weapons in Benue State! See pictures

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke in the North Central region of the country recorded a tremendous success as they killed one of the ring leaders of a Kidnap Syndicate, Zwa Ikyegh operating in Benue State.

The operation was carried out based on credible intelligence as the troops of sector 2 and 4 engaged the criminals in superior firepower at Tomari village in Logo Local Government Area of the state which led to the death of Zwa Ikyegh while others escaped with various gun shot injuries.

In addition, the successful operation also lead to the rescue of 32 hostages who according to the statement by the Defense Headquarters, have been in captivity for over a month and they have been reunited with their respective families.

Items recovered from the operation include; One AK 47 rifle, one AK 47 magazine, 6 locally made rifle, one locally made pistol and a magazine. Others include 22 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 2 cartridges, 2 motorcycles and some Charms. Their hideout has been equally destroyed.
