Umahi defection: 9 other PDP governors, including Wike, will join APC – Yahaya Bello
Following the controversy trailing the defection of Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello has sensationally revealed that nine other opposition governors will be cross-carpetting to the ruling party.
Speaking on news and current affairs programme Politics Today on Channels TV on Thursday night, Bello fingered Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike as one of the nine key figures that will make the shock move.
“I said this a long time ago when the APC was going through a crisis and I’m going to repeat it again. I said there were 10 governors from the opposition that will join us and now you have seen Umahi. One down, nine to go,” he told the anchor.
When pressed to reveal some of the nine governors still on their way to the ruling party, he said:
“I don’t want to say anything that will make me look like a prophet so I will prefer to let all these things happen for Nigerians to see but, if you insist, I can tell you that governor Wike will be one of them, probably the tenth to defect but he’s certainly coming. Mark my words.”
