Update! Gas cylinder not bomb caused Kano explosion - Police 2

The police claimed on Tuesday that the explosion that shook Kano was caused by a gas cylinder, not a bomb.

In a voice recording, Commissioner of Police Sama’ila Dikko declared, “It is not a bomb explosion, it is a gas explosion.” “An explosion in a gas cylinder.”

“Because there’s a welder right next to the location, and he’s the first victim in this case.”

Four people have been confirmed killed, according to the police chief. He claimed there were no schoolchildren among the fatalities.

He verified that rescue efforts were still underway, with bulldozers expected to clear the debris.

Dikko further stated that the police were investigating the cause of the gas cylinder explosion in coordination with other security authorities.

He insisted that the situation was under his control.

The blast, which occurred early Tuesday morning, damaged many structures and injured several people, including schoolchildren.

According to Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information, the event occurred near the school on Aba Road in the Sabon Gari area of Fagge local government.

Garba issued a statement urging residents of the state, particularly those who live in the region where the event occurred, to be calm while the government, in concert with relevant agencies, works to resolve the situation.

The commissioner promised that the government would keep the public informed of any developments and advised individuals against disseminating false information.
