Video of the day: Dino Melaye prays for Covid-19 virus on election riggers in Edo PDP campaign
Dino Melaye, the former Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has invoked the Covid-19 pandemic on anybody intending to rig next month’s gubernatorial election in Edo state.
Senator Dino Melaye made this declaration at the PDP campaign in Benin City on Saturday.
After he was introduced and invited to the podium, Dino saluted the crowd and began with his trademark songs aimed at the opposition party.
He then said: “Anybody coming from Abuja, anybody coming from Kogi with dollars in his pocket to rig tbe election should receive Covid-19,” to enthusiastic applause from the sparse crowd.
The election is between incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki who defected to the PDP and Pastor Ize Iyamu who was his opponent four years ago.
