He was the narrator for Big Brother Australia for 13 years.

But what happened to Mike Goldman after he recorded his last season for Channel Nine in 2014?

Daily Mail Australia can reveal the 49-year-old has stayed in the entertainment industry, and is now working as an actor.

‘After my near-death experience a couple of years ago and the loss of my dad I decided to change direction,’ he explained.

‘Together with my agent we came up with a plan to change my look, name and study acting.’

Since pulling the pin on Big Brother, he has appeared in the Tiger King-inspired Stan Original series Joe vs. Carole and NBC Universal’s Young Rock.

Mike was an integral part of Big Brother; he narrated the program, hosted his own spin-off series, Up Late, and assisted with live evictions.

While he hasn’t reprised his role as the voice of Big Brother since the show moved to Channel Seven, he has been offered plenty of voice-over work since 2014.

He’s done work for Discovery and National Geographic documentaries, and also appeared in adverts for Rebel, Telstra and Coles.

Mike voices the mosquito in the Raid commercials, as well as 45 different characters in the World Animal Championships animation.

He told Daily Mail Australia: ‘I’ve never considered leaving the entertainment industry. Mum and dad were both in the industry and school wasn’t my thing, so this was always where I would be landing.’

Mike is the son of late television and radio personality Grant Goldman and former Channel Seven weather girl Erica Hammond.

In 2015, he launched the Sanctuary Film Festival with the support of Screen Queensland.

Mike said he was shocked when Big Brother was axed in 2014, but was never once concerned about his career.

‘Big Brother was only ever three months of the year. It was never my main thing – but it was by far the most fun,’ he said.
