An Australian adult performer has revealed what it’s really like behind the scenes on a porn set, including why she much prefers working with women, despite being straight.

Sydney-based Charlotte Star appeared on Abbie Chatfield’s Channel 10 pilot Abbie Chats, where she revealed she always fakes orgasms on-screen and she never films anything she doesn’t want to.

She also sells the underwear she wears in shoots to fans after the film is released, making around $350 for a set of lingerie, but charging up to $100 more if her ‘juices are on it’.

‘There is so many times where something that should have taken half an hour has taken three hours because the guy can’t get it up, he can’t stay hard, it’s really hard to work with’.

Abbie then watched Charlotte film a lesbian threesome with Perth-based performer Bambi Lefist and  Sydney-based Turkish star Kat Squirt.

After the shoot, Charlotte explained: ‘I’ll go have a shower, have something to eat, play PlayStation, its just a job, we’re just normal people’.

When Abbie asked what it takes to make it in porn, Charlotte went on: ‘You have to be confident and thick-skinned, and you have to be okay with the fact there’s going to be creepy guys at home masturbating to you, you have to be okay that people might recognise you on the street doing that, you have to think if your family will be okay’.

‘The wrong reasons is being desperate for money,’ she said, before adding that the trickiest part of her career is ‘trying to find a boyfriend’ because she just gets ‘completely sexualised’.

Charlotte also spoke to Australian star Angela White, who lives in LA and has been dubbed the ‘Meryl Streep of porn’.

Describing herself as ‘definitely a feminist’ she urged people to ‘be more compassionate’ and explained she believes porn stars ‘don’t get the respect they deserve’.

‘I was an incredibly sexual teen and porn was one of the first places I saw women were encouraged to celebrate their sexuality,’ she said.

‘When I first saw porn I thought this is where I need to be, this is where I see myself.

‘There’s a lot of myths, it’s a very corporate environment, myths about pimps and being abducted, but that isn’t the reality of porn.

‘Its a form of entertainment and should be used that way, it shouldn’t be your sole source of sex education, it’s produced,’ she went on.

‘We need age appropriate sex education and porn literacy, you don’t watch the Fast and the Furious to learn how to drive ‘.
