Why Manchester United should give Paul Pogba a new contract
According to recent reports from England, Premier League giants Manchester United are now engaged in talks to renew the contract of French midfielder Paul Pogba on a long term basis.
Pogba has barely played sidelined with a niggling foot injury which has required surgery.
With just one year left on his contract after this season and the team struggling to secure Champions League football next season, there were reports that Pogba may be willing to force his way out of Old Trafford this season with the Red Devils obligated to sell so as not to lose him for free.
Therefore, Manchester United moved swiftly to sign Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting in the winter transfer window.
Fernandes has sparked a revival at Manchester United who are now unbeaten in 10 games. However, to become contenders next season, Pogba staying will be of immense benefit.
The French man will form a devastating midfield partnership with Fernandes and also will be able to attract world-class players.
The benefits to Pogba staying are countless especially because of his social media status and his presence in the dressing room. He is the most accomplished player in the squad leading France to a World Cup title and extending his contract is only a positive for the team.
