‘It is really important in Goondiwindi if anyone has any symptoms to please be tested so there will be testing facilities set up outside Goondiwindi Hospital and we are looking at transferring the people to Brisbane later on today when convenient.’

A person tested positive at Goondiwindi Hospital yesterday after it’s believed they had contact with a person who travelled from Moree in NSW.

The new cases were announced shortly after Yvette D’Ath’s press conference was stopped after a woman interrupted towards the end claiming adverse reactions in two friends who’d received AstraZeneca.

Ms D’Ath was approaching the end of the press conference on The Esplanade in Cairns, far north Queensland, when a woman in a sunhat filming journalists with her mobile phone interrupted.

‘[My friend] had the second jab and I buried her on Saturday… within 14 hours she was dead from of getting the jab,’ the woman claimed.

Ms D’Ath then turned to the woman and said: ‘So lady, I’m happy to talk to you.’

The woman continued, saying the daughter of another friend has been put in a wheelchair with terminal illness after receiving the jab ‘down past Rockhampton.

‘Will you give the answers?’ she asked the health minister. ‘Why has it not been recorded, why has it not been recorded?’

At one stage Ms D’Ath asked the woman to ‘let me speak’ before telling reporters that the woman raised important issues.

‘Anyone who passes away does receive a coronial inquest,’ Ms D’Ath said.
