3 things we learned as Chelsea beat Rennes 2-1

Premier League giants Chelsea recorded a 2-1 away win against French Ligue 1 side Rennes in their fourth Champions League group stage encounter played on Tuesday, November 24th.

Chelsea went ahead in the 22nd minute when Callum Hudson-Odoi converted a ball through to him by Mason Mount.

Rennes equalised in the 85th minute when Sehrou Guirassy was supplied by Benjamin Bourigeaud.

Chelsea would however find the winner in the 90th minute when  Olivier Giroud headed in a ball by Timo Werner

Here are three things we learned from the game

1 Chelsea became the first team to advance to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

2- Only Olivier Giroud has scored more European goals for Chelsea since Callum Hudson-Odoi’s European debut for the club in October 2018

3- Olivier Giroud is the 4th player to score for both Arsenal and Chelsea in the Champions League after William Gallas, Cesc Fabregas and Nicolas Anelka. Chelsea
