Breaking: UEFA Postpones Euro 2020 until 2021 due to Coronavirus outbreak
European football governing body the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) have postponed the planned European Football Championship for 2020 popularly known Euro 2020 till 2021 due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.
The decision to postpone the tournament was announced on Tuesday, March 17 after the association held a conference call with its 55 member associations.
Also present on the conference call was the board of the European Leagues and the board of the European Club Association.
According to several news outlets, the reasons for the postponement was not just down to the Coronavirus but also so that other European League on a break can complete their seasons.
The postponement of the Euro was not announced by the official UEFA social media handles but the Norweigian Association who released a statement on their official Twitter account which was translated as “UEFA has decided that the European Championship is postponed to 2021. It will be played from 11 June to 11 July next year. More information coming.”

A piece of official information from UEFA is expected as it will now be played from 11 June to 11 July 2021 in different countries of Europe.
