Victor Osimhen’s summer transfer saga has finally come to end as the Super Eagles striker heads to Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli.
The Super Eagles star striker will join the reigning Turkish champions after his move to Saudi Pro League club Al Ahly and Chelsea collapsed on United Kingdom’s transfer deadline day.
Osimhen reportedly turned down two proposals from Chelsea hours before the end transfer window as both proposals fell way below his salary demamds.
Having agreed personal terms with Al Ahly, the transfer to the Saudi Pro League side collapsed as well during further negotiations with Napoli.
However, Osimhen will now return to playing regular football with Galatasaray having been excluded from the Napoli squad since his transfer away from the club didn’t materialise.
Osimhen will earn between €9m/10m at Galatasaray just like he did at Napoli. The loan deal also includes a clause that will allow clubs interested in him to sign him in the January 2025 window for a reduced fee of €75m instead of €130m.
The 25-year-old striker is set to travel to Instanbul alongisde his management in the hours ahead for his medical before his official announcement as a new Galatasaray player.
