The Nigeria Football Federation have penciled in two friendly matches for the women’s senior national team ahead of next month’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu says the team will play two friendly matches before their opening match against Tunisia on July 6.
Madugu says Portugal will host the nine-time African champions in an international friendly on Monday, June 23.
He added that the Super Falcons will also play Ghana as they round off preparations for the tournament in Morocco.
Justin Madugu confirmed that Al Nassr Women’s defender Ashleigh Plumptre is in his list of players for the tournament as he quashed rumors of her being left out of the squad, having not played for the team since November.
The Super Falcons secured a two-nil victory over Cameroon earlier in the month in Abeokuta in preparation for the tournament.
Rasheedat Ajibade’s brace secured the win for Nigeria as they continued their dominance over the Indomitable Lionesses.
Nigeria will take on Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana in Group C as they look to win a record 10th championship.
