The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) have released the provisional list for the senior women’s basketball team, the DTigress, ahead of the 2025 Afrobasket Championship.
NBBF published the list of invited players in a tweet via its official X page on Wednesday afternoon in preparation for the tournament next month.
Captain of the team and reigning MVP from the last edition, Amy Okonkwo, leads 19 other players of whom 12 will be selected for the competition.
Prolific point guards Ezinne Kanu and Promise Amukamara, as expected, made the provisional list as they look to lead Nigeria to a record fifth consecutive title.
Nicole Enabosi, Palla Kunayi, Elizabeth Balogun, Victoria Macaulay, and Ifunaya Okoro are some of the regulars invited to help the Dtigress continue their dominance on the continent.
Nigeria are in Group D of the 2025 Afrobasket alongside Rwanda and Mozambique as they look to defend their title and set an unprecedented record in the history of the competition.
The DTigrees go into the competition on the back of an impressive outing at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
