Ademola Lookman’s future remains uncertain after the Super Eagles forward’s potential move away from Atalanta this summer collapsed.
Lookman’s relationship with Atalanta has deteriorated after he issued a transfer request where he accused the club of blocking his move away from the club
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has since been frozen out of the team and hasn’t featured for La Dea this season.
Inter Milan showed keen interest in the 27-year-old and submitted a bid twice.
However, Atalanta rejected Inter Milan’s €43 million plus an additional €3 million bid.
Atalanta insisted that the club won’t sell to a team in the Italian Serie A even though the bid fell short of his €50 million valuation.
Bayer Munich also reportedly showed interest in the Nigerian forward but couldn’t reach an agreement with Atalanta.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin has revealed that it’s highly unlikely for Atalanta to sell Ademola Lookman in the winter transfer window considering the Africa Cup of Nations.

“He definitely won’t leave in January because they have the African Cup of Nations,” Basin said t FCInter1908.
“I’d tend to rule that out. When Atalanta rejected Inter’s €42 million + €3 million offer, Atalanta didn’t say ‘we want more.’
“They said we won’t sell him to Italy. This is legitimate, and Percassi hasn’t changed his mind, and I doubt he will.
“He’ll probably lose money on Lookman, even a lot, but he can always tell the fans he kept his word.”
Despite not playing a match for Atalanta so far this season, Ademola Lookman featured in Super Eagles FIFA Club World qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
Meanwhile, Atalanta manager Ivan Juric explained why Ademola Lookman is not part of his squad both in the league as well the Champions League which commences tonight.
