
Coach of Kwara United Tunde Sanni has expressed his disappointment after his team crashed out of the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The reigning President Federation Cup holders lost to Asante Kotoko in the second leg of the first round in Abeokuta on Sunday evening.
Despite scoring three goals in the first leg loss, the Harmony Boys fired blank in the return leg as they fell to 1-0 loss to the visitors.
Hubert Gyau’s 54th minute strike from range made the difference as the Ghanian side progressed to the final round of qualification.
Tunde Sanni, in a post match reaction said he’s “highly disappointed” in his players’ inability to convert the chances they had in the match.
“I am highly disappointed in my players, can you see the number of chances created and missed? We that scored three goals over there (Accra) but couldn’t convert one here!”
Kwara United exit the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 5-3 aggregate scoreline.
Meanwhile, Abia Warriors have also crashed out of the competition after losing to Malian Djoliba in the second leg.
Djoliba won the second leg 1-0 anf secured a spot on the penultimate round of qualification of the competition.
