Super Eagles’ Ademola Lookman inspired Atalanta to a 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt away from home on matchday five of the UEFA Champions League.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year scored and provided an assist in the road trip as La Dea kept their third clean sheet in the competition.
Lookman put Atalanta ahead on the hour mark after the first half ended goalless. The Nigerian forward got to the end of Charles De Ketelaere’s square ball into the box before smashing the ball into the back of the net.
Two minutes later, Lookman set Ederson free with a brilliant pass to set up the second goal. The Brazilian calmly rolled the ball into the net to give the visitors a two-goal lead.
Moments later, Belgian midfielder Charles De Ketelaere pounced on a rebound in the box to increase Atalanta’s lead.
Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman played 82 minutes before being substituted for Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.
His goal and assist are his first in the competition this season as he slowly gets back to form after a difficult start.
