Copa Del Rey: Ademola Lookman Ruthless As Atletico Madrid Destroy Barcelona

Ademola Lookman had another brilliant outing in his third match for Atletico Madrid as the Rojiblancos brushed Barcelona aside in the first leg of the Copa Del Rey semi-finals.

The Super Eagles forward outshone Barcelona’s young sensation Lamine Yamal as he scored a goal and provided an assist in the 4-0 drubbing of the defending champions of the competition.

Lookman thought he had given Atletico Madrid the lead as he fired the ball into an empty net early in the game. However, Eric Garcia’s intended pass to his goalkeeper had already crossed the line.

Former Barcelona forward and Atletico’s legend, Antoine Griezmann doubled the lead in the 14th minute as he rolled the ball into the middle of the goal after Nahuel Molina’s pass.

Atletico Madrid feasted on Barcelona’s ultra-high line as they went past the Catalans’ giant line of defence with quick interchanges of passes and transitions.

Ademola Lookman increased the lead as he got to the end of Julian Alvarez’s pass in the box, and he buried the ball into the far corner.

Lookman helped Julian Alvarez end his long goal drought as he selflessly placed a cut-back to the World Cup winner who smashed the ball into the back of the net.

Ademola Lookman registered his second goal and second assist in two Copa Del Rey matches as Atletico Madrid take a huge advantage over Barcelona ahead of the second leg.
