Manchester United only have one European Cup Winner’s Cup trophy before the.competition was abolished in 1999 courtesy of Mark Hughes’ brace over Barcelona in 1991 in Rotterdam.
The European Cup Winner’s Cup competition was organised yearly for winners of various league winnees in Europe with his first edition in 1960/1961 before it was remodelled onto the UEFA Cup in 1999.
On this day in 1991, Mark Hughes scored a barve within 10 minutes to give Manchester United their first European Cup Winner’s Cup trophy.
