Throwback: Portugal beat Netherlands 1-0 to win 2019 UEFA Nations League (Video)
On June 9, 2019, Portugal beat the Netherlands 1-0 to win the first edition of the UEFA Nations League.
Portugal beat Switzerland 3-1 to advance to the final while their opponents the Netherlands beat the Three Lions also by the same scoreline.
The final was a closely contested event with both sides not given much up on defense.
The breakthrough would come through Goncalo Guedes in the 60th minute from a Bernado Silva assist.
Portugal held on for despite pressure from the Netherlands to win in front of 43,199 fans in the attendance at the Estádio do Dragão, Porto.
