Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson named the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been named the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year
Henderson was named the winner of the prestigious award on Friday, July 24th.
Henderson beat Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and his own teammate Sadio Mane to win the award.
Henderson captained Liverpool to win their first Premier League title in 30 years and also the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
In 40 Games played this season he scored four goals and five assists.
After receiving the award he said, “I’d like to say how appreciative I am of the support of those who voted for me and the Football Writers’ Association in general. But as grateful as I am I don’t feel like I can accept this on my own..”
