Messi returns to Barcelona training after transfer U-turn
Lionel Messi arrived at Barcelona’s training ground on Monday as he begins to reintegrate himself into the team after his failed attempt to leave the club this summer.
Messi was seen driving into the Ciutat Esportiva in Saint Joan Despi Monday evening, where he is expected to take part in training for the first time under Ronald Koeman.
The Argentine said on Friday that he will continue to give his best for Barca, despite failing in his bid to leave for free.
The return of Barcelona’s embittered captain and greatest ever player may not be an easy one, particularly given some of his closest teammates are likely to be absent. Best friend and neighbor Luis Suarez as well as Vidal are expected to join Juventus and Inter Milan respectively.
Messi’s decision to leave via a burofax came a day after meeting with Koeman, talks that reportedly involved the Dutchman taking a hardline with his top player.
