Football legend, Gerd Muller passes on aged 75!

It’s a sad day in the world of football! One of the beautiful game’s icons, Gerd Muller has died.

Here Muller, who is often regarded as “Bomber der Nation”, died at the age of 75.

His death was confirmed in a statement by the President of Bayer Munich, Herbert Hainer.

Today is a sad, black day for Bayern and all of its fans. Gerd Mueller was the greatest striker there has ever been and a fine person, a personality in world football.

“We’re united in deep sorrow with his wife Uschi and his family. Without Gerd Muller, Bayern would not be the club we all love today. His name and the memory of him will live on forever

Gerd Muller player for Bayern Munich in his active days and he remains their all-time top scorer with 563 goals in 605 appearances.

He won the 1974 World Cup as well as well as the 1972 European Championship.

Gerd Muller was often regarded as one of the greatest goal scorers of all time.

He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2015 while serving as the coach of Bayern’s second team. Hee also suffered from alcoholism when his playing days which came to end in 1982.
