Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi has revealed the secret behind his good start to the season both for club and country.
Alex Iwobi has been in a good run of form under new manager, Rafa Benitez having registered a goal and an assist in four games for Everton this season.
Iwobi also translated his club into the national team as he provided assists to Kelechi Iheanacho’s brace as the Super Eagles defeated Liberia in their Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifier Opener.
While speaking with Everton TV recently, Alex Iwobi revealed that his new manager has been instrumental to his recent run of form:
The manager is always talking to me and trying to help me,” Iwobi told Everton TV. “It’s helped me a lot so far this season.
“It’s not just me, of course, but the whole team. My confidence is playing a big part, too. I’m pushing a bit more up the field and getting involved in attacks.
“I just need to add more goals and assists, like the manager wants. With the manager, he doesn’t give us any rest, he’s onto us 24/7. This is what we need.”
The 24-year-old will look to continue impressive form when Everton take on Burnley on Monday night.
