Simy Nwankwo goal drought continues as Salernitana records first Serie A win of the season.

One might begin to wonder if Nigerian striker, Simy Nwankwo forgot his goals scoring boat at his former club Crotone where he did exceptionally well.

Simy Nwankwo scored 20 Serie A goals in 37 appearances for Crotone last season as became the Nigerian striker with the most number of goals in Europe’s top five leagues in a single season as he eclipsed Yakubu Aiyegbeni’s record of 17.

However, Simy Nwankwo has since moved on to Salernitana after Crotone’s relegation but the lanky striker is yet to find the back of the net so far in seven appearances for the club.

The 229-year-old striker featured for only 61 minutes as Salernitana recorded their first Serie A win of the season over Genoa.

Salernitana will take on Spezi away from home in their next match after the International break and Simy Nwankwo will probably go back to Crotone’s locker room to find and get back his magical boots. Of course, will be allowed to look for it, he is their hero.
