The Nigerian female football team, the Super Falcons have arrived in Casablanca, Morocco ahead of the third place match of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations (WAFCON)
The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to take on the Copper Queens of Zambia in the third place playoff on Friday the 22nd of July at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Super Falcons lost 5-4 on penalties to the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco on Monday 18 July at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium after playing 1-1 following extra time.
While the Copper Queens lost 1-0 to the Banyana Banyana of South Africa on Monday 18 July at the Mohammed V Stadium.
The Super Falcons announced the arrival on their Twitter handle.
“Earlier today we arrived back in Casablanca for Friday’s third place match against #TeamZambia at the Stade Mohammed V,” they Tweeted.
The Super Falcons have won WAFCON a record nine times.
The Super Falcons won the bronze medal at the 2008 Women’s Cup Of Nations and emerged fourth in 2012.
