Flying Eagles manager, Ladan Bosso has revealed what his team needs to do ahead of their second group match against Italy at the ongoing FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Argentina. Bosso said his squad need to become more ruthless at finishing chances at the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup.
The Flying Eagles defeated the Dominican Republic 2-1 on Sunday, May 21 at the Estadio Malvinas. Azcona scored a penalty kick in the 23rd minute to put the Dominican Republic ahead and an own goal by De Pena Rosario equalised for Nigeria eight minutes later.
Adediran Lawal got a goal for the Flying Eagles in the 70th minute of the encounter to make it 2-1. The Nigerians squandered many chances to score in the match but were able to score two goals which gave them maximum points on the night.
Bosso said the Flying Eagles must start scoring more ahead of their next match against Italy;
“We missed so many chances and we need to work on those chances before the next match,” Bosso said
The Flying Eagles are currently second in Group D with three points after one match. The team will play the young Italiansy next on Wednesday, May 24 at the Estadio Malvinas.
