Bendel Insurance midfielder Okon Ini-obong has been awarded best goal following his wonder strike against Rivers United in the 3-2 Naija Super 8 playoff defeat on Sunday, June 25 at the Eket Township Stadium.
The award was presented to him by Super Eagles legend Victor Ikpeba.
Albert Korvah scored the first goal of the game for Rivers United in the 10th minute and Monghara Dede equalised via a penalty kick 35 minutes later.
Korvah scored again in the second half to make it 2-1, Okon scored a spectacular volley from 23 metres out to equaliser for Bendel Insurance.
However Maurice Chukwu scored the winner for the Rivers State based club from the penalty spot towards the end of the game.

Bendel Insurance FC Midfielder Ini-Obong Okon receives the Gold Medal & #NaijaSuper8 official ball from the organisers of the Naija Super 8 off season tournament in Lagos. Ini-Obong scored the best goal of the NAIJA SUPER 8 playoffs against Rivers United last Sunday in Eket ,”the tweet reads.
Lobi Stars, Remo Stars, Katsina United, Yobe Stars, Rivers United and Enyimba have all qualified for the main Super 8 tournament.
The two remaining slots for the tournament are wildcards are Akwa United and Sporting Lagos.
The Naija Super 8 finals will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena from July 7 to July 16.
