Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has signed a one-year deal with his former side Glasgow Rangers after leaving championship side Queens Park Rangers.
Leon Balogun re-joins Rangers after a year after he joined Queens Park Rangers where he featured 16 times and registered a goal in the 2022/2023 football season.
While at Rangers, Leon Balogun won the Scottish Cup and the Scottish Premier League in the 2021/2022 season. He was also part of Ranges’ Europa League run where the former Scottish champions lost to Frankfurt in the final. The former Mainz defender featured 66 times for Rangers in a two-year period.
Leon Balogun expressed his delight on joining the club for the second time:
“I am just excited to be honest, it is still a bit unreal but it is very real, so I am just really really happy to be back at Rangers – it feels like coming home.”
Rangers announced the arrival of the 35-year-old on their official Twitter page.
Leon Balogun will look to help Rangers wrestle the Scottish Premier League title from rivals Celtics in the upcoming football season.
Rangers have only won the Scottish Premier League title once in the last 10 years.
