Popular Human Rights Lawyer and Political Activist, Femi Falana has urged lawmakers to exercise their constitutional rights by impeaching President Muhammadu Buhari.
Femi Falana while speaking on “State of the Nation” a program on AIT News said that once it becomes evident that the President can no longer perform his duties; one of which is securing the lives and properties of the Nigerian people, he should be impeached.
The Lawyer, who also decried the high level of insecurity in the country said;
“Once it is crystal clear that an administration can no longer secure the lives and properties of the Nigerian people, we can fall back on the Constitution, section 143, it (section 143) wasn’t inserted into the Constitution for a joke, it is there to impeach a President who can not perform.”
In a piece of related news, the Defense Headquarters issued a statement warning soldiers and politicians of staging a coup to overthrow President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
