Super Eagles legend Ahmed Musa put out an amamzing performance as he helped his boyhood club, Kano Pillars earn a win over defending champions Enugu Rangers in Enugu on Wednesday.
Musa showed that “Class is permanent” as he contributed to all the goals Kano Pillars scored on the day.
The Super Eagles winger won two penalties, provided an assist and scored a brilliant solo goal as Kano Pillars beat Enugu Rangers 4-3 at “The Cathedral.”
Veteran of the league Rabiu Alli scored from the spot pick on the 15th minute to give Kano Pillars an early lead.
Zulfikilu Mohammed doubled the lead of the former champions on the 28th minute via a brilliant pass from Ahmed Musa from the flank.
Rabiu Alli put the defending champions in further misery as he scored from another penalty to record his fourth goal of the season.
Ahmed Musa eventually got on the score sheet in added time of tge first half. The winger raced pass four players.from the midfiled to slot home his third goal of the season.
It was almost looking like an embarrassing defeat for Enugu Rangers on their home turf but the introduction of Isaac Saviour in the second half changed the dynamics of the game.
The atacking midfielder scored a brace in fifteen minutes to reduce the deficit as Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side attempted a dramatic comeback.
However, Kano Pillars held on till the final blast of the whistle even though Silas Nenrot scored in added time to make the final scoreline 4-3 in favour of the away side.
Enugu Rangers have now dropped to fifth position on the Nigeria Premier Football League log with 10 points after 7 matches.
Remo Stars remain on top of the log with 15 points after 6 matches.
