Nigerian striker Akor Adams has completed a permanent transfer from Sevilla to newly promoted Serie A side Venezia, signing a deal that runs until June 2030.
Venezia confirmed the signing on Thursday, calling the Super Eagles forward a key piece of their long-term project as they prepare for their return to Italy’s top flight.
The 26-year-old joins after a career path that has taken him through Norway, France, and Spain. He began at Sogndal IL in 2018, scoring 16 goals in 56 appearances, before a move to Lillestrøm SK saw him net 28 goals in 50 matches and feature in Europa Conference League qualifiers. A switch to Montpellier in 2023 brought 13 goals in 49 games, and he later joined Sevilla in January 2025, where he scored 10 goals in 37 appearances.
At international level, Adams progressed from two caps with the Flying Eagles to the Super Eagles senior side, where he has scored six goals in 15 appearances.
Speaking after the move, Adams said Venezia’s ambition shaped his decision to join. He said he chose the club because he sees “the extraordinary project Venezia is building” and wants to help write a new chapter in its history.
The striker also praised the club’s fanbase, saying he had been struck by the energy and passion of their support after watching some match footage. He added that he believes Venezia deserve their place in Serie A and is determined to help the club establish itself among Italy’s elite.
Adams’ arrival is expected to strengthen Venezia’s attacking options as the newly promoted side looks to secure its top-flight status this season.
