Akwa United Beat Heartland To Move Out Of Relegation Zone

Akwa United put an end to their three-game winless run as they defeated Heartland of Owerri in a Nigeria Premier Football League fixture on Monday.

The Promise Keepers secured maximum points over the visitors with a comfortable 2-0 win at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium to move out of the relegation zone.

The home side held on to their lead until the blast of the final whistle as the vistors barely threatened them in the second half.

Akwa United have moved out of the drop season heading Christmas as they occupy the 17th spot with 19 points after 18 matches.

Emmanuel Amunike’s Heartland are just two points better than Akwa United. Although the Nazi Millionaires occupy the 13th spot on the NPFL table.
