Alex Iwobi aiming to become 3rd Super Eagles midfielder to score 10 goals
The Super Eagles of Nigeria welcome back Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi for their final qualification game for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon on Tuesday, March 30th.
Iwobi was missing in action as the Super Eagles recorded a 1-0 away win against the Squirrel of Benin Republic at the weekend.
A statement on the official Twitter account revealed that Iwobi will be chasing a record held by Jay-Jay Okocha.
The statement said, “Should @alexiwobi score this evening, he would be the third Nigerian midfielder to score 10 goals or more for the Super Eagles.
Only his uncle, @IAmOkocha (14) has scored more than 10 goals as a midfielder for Nigeria.
