Angel Bumpass 2022 Udpate: Where is she now? Is Angel Bumpass still in jail?

Who is Angel Bumpass?

Angel Bumpass, a 13-year-old girl, was convicted for murder in 2009. Angel Bumpass was found guilty of a 2009 murder by a jury on October 3, 2019, ten years later, after only four hours and thirty minutes of deliberation.

People believe that Angel Bumpass’s attorney did a poor job representing her case and that she did not receive adequate legal assistance from them. Angel was found guilty on October 3, 2019, because her attorneys failed to present a compelling defense. Her life was lost as a result of the harm done.

She is a mother of two kids. Bumpass was living with her grandmother at the time of the murder, and her grandmother claims she never set foot in the Bonners’ home. A large number of social media pages are pleading for justice and requesting her release.

Angel Bumpass’ retrial case has been repeatedly rescheduled since April 2021, and her new court date is January 7, 2022. The hearing appears to be postponed indefinitely due to the constant rescheduling. And the case will be rescheduled yet again.

Angel Bumpass murder trial

Angel Bumpass was an eighth grade star roll student at Brown Middle School on January 16, 2009. Angel took the bus from her grandmother’s house to school that morning. Angel had a typical day, with nothing out of the ordinary or unusual happening to her.

She took the bus home at 2:30 p.m….

On June 14, 2018, she was a 23-year-old mother of two, enrolled in her second year of college at Jefferson Community and Technical College. She was accepted into the nursing program and will begin in August 2018. While also holding down a full-time job.

Surprisingly, two detectives arrived at her door around 6 a.m. with a warrant for felony murder to be served on Angel from May 2018. She had no knowledge of the murder.

No one paid attention to the fact that Angel was only 5″0 and weighed 80 pounds when he was 13. Two partial fingerprints allegedly obtained from tape used to bind the victim were used as evidence against Angel. The tape in question also contained nine other unidentified fingerprints that were not investigated.

Ten years later, a hair was discovered on the duct tape. The hair was never put to the test. Angel lawyers were never able to obtain the original duct tape in order to lift their on prints.

The lawyers stated that the duct tape had been cut and balled up after ten years, but a picture of the tape and fingerprints were allowed as evidence.

Carl Fields, the original detective, was fired for planting evidence in another case. This was never mentioned during the trial.

Angel’s attorneys, Andrea Hayduk and Garth Best, failed to present any mitigating circumstances or character witnesses to paint a picture of who Angel was at the time. To demonstrate that she was not responsible for anything natural.

Angel’s lawyers, Andrea Hayduk and Garth Best, were dissatisfied with the picture they painted, leading Angel to believe she had nothing to worry about. They explained that it was all a mistake that would be corrected.

That never happened, and Angel was found guilty on October 3, 2019, as a result of her lawyers’ failure to take her case seriously. They inflicted damage at the expense of her life.

Where is Angel Bumpass now?

Angel Bumpass is currently serving time in prison on a murder charge. However, in recent years, she has attempted to have the case retried, and her appeal has been put on hold multiple times as a result of COVID-19.

Her appeal was scheduled but had to be postponed due to the pandemic. Her most recent media appearance came after she successfully persuaded the court to postpone the hearing several times. She filed a hearing request in April of 2021.

Bumpass, on the other hand, remains imprisoned and has been unable to successfully refute the charges leveled against her because her appeal has been repeatedly denied.

Her fingerprints were discovered on a piece of duct tape, and she was found guilty of the murder she is accused of committing when she was only 13 years old. There were nine other prints that could not be identified at the site.

The number of petitions that have been launched has increased as a result of the number of people urging that Angel be given justice and that the trial be completed as soon as possible.

Angel was living a happy life with a promising future when she was arrested in 2018. Since her arrest, everything, including her personal and professional lives, has been put on hold until further notice.
