On June 29th, 1986 Argentina led by Diego Maradona beat West Germany 3-2 to win the World Cup.
The game was played at the Estadio Azteca, Mexico City with a record of 114,600 fans in attendance.
Argentina went ahead in the 23rd minute through José Luis Brown which they held on going into the halftime break.
Jorge Valdano made it a two-goal advantage for Argentina in the 56th minute.
Germany pulled one back through Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in the 74th minute and scored the equalizer came from a Rudi Völler header in the 83rd minute.
After surrendering a two-goal advantage, Argentina did not give up an scored the winner in the 86th minute through Jorge Burruchaga.
Argentina would hold on to win their second world cup title.
