The final was between Australian Ashleigh Barty and Karolína Plíšková from the Czech Republic.
It was a three-set contest as Barty emerged the winner over Plíšková 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.
It was the second Grand Slam for Barty who is one of the rising stars in the women’s competition.
