It was a night of glitz, glamour and spectacular fun for those who attended the 2023 edition of Goalfest supported by Nigeria’s leading sports betting company, Betwinner.
Apart from the live viewing of the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan, Betwinner ensured its Ambassador, John Mikel Obi graced the occasion.
The customers of Betwinner surely had the time of their lives at Goalfest as they had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to snap pictures with the former Super Eagles captain.
The Betwinner-supported event also saw performances from A-list musicians such as Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael known as Zlatan Ibile and Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba known aka Mohbad.
Another highlight of the evening included the guest appearance by Nigerian football legend, Victor Ikpeba. All these left the audience captivated beyond their expectations.
Betwinner also treated fans at the event with a collection of exciting competitions including dance and engaging games with generous giveaways. A number of fans won various cash prizes, EarPods and iPhones.
Throughout the evening, the atmosphere was electric with fans passionately cheering for their teams and celebrating each thrilling favorite moment of the match.
As the final whistle blew and Man City emerged victorious, the crowd erupted with cheers and applause as BetWinner had successfully elevated the experience for the fans, leaving them with unforgettable memories.

Goalfest 2023 has come and gone. How exciting was it for Betwinner to have sponsored such a magnificent football event? What’s the experience like in general?
It was really an exciting opportunity for Betwinner to have been part of the sponsors of Goalfest 2023. When the proposal came to my table, I just knew it was something we would let go of.
We just had to jump on it because we felt it was a rare opportunity for us to have access to thousands of football fans in one place and having personal and physical interactions with our customers as well.
So, it was really an exciting experience for us as we had a wonderful time with people, the fans and with our customers.
Were you impressed with the turnout of fans at Goalfest 2023? What was your major highlight of the event?
Yes, we were really impressed with how people turned out for the event because we felt that day, it was going to rain on the Island because it had rained heavily on the Mainland.
We were very scared that the rain would have affected the turn up of people at Goalfest but thank God that it did not even drizzle at all on the Island which was a huge relief for us.
That afforded us the opportunity to work out the programmes smoothly but the highlight for us was having the Betwinner Ambassador, John Mikel Obi turn up for the event.
Having Mikel come to the Betwinner post and having a personal interaction with him was truly fun-filled and exciting for everyone who attended Goalfest 2023.
We all know that Mikel Obi is the official ambassador for Betwinner. But what was it like hanging out with the former Super Eagles captain and Chelsea legend? How did Goalfest attendees also see the once in a lifetime opportunity?
Meeting Mikel at Goalfest was fun because he is a very humble and easy-going person, it wasn’t difficult at all trying to have a conversation with him, it was really easy communicating with him.
On the other hand, it was really a rare opportunity for fans to see him in person, a lot of Goalfest attendees were very excited to have Mikel at the venue of the event.
Everytime he came to the Betwinner post, you would hear people cheering him and everyone was super happy to see Mikel up-close like that, so it was really nice for us.
Let’s digress a little bit. Manchester City finally won their first UEFA Champions League trophy by beating Inter Milan 1-0. How did you see the game and were your expectations met or did you tip Inter to win?
Honestly, I wasn’t rooting for Manchester City simply because I am an Arsenal fan who was still feeling hurt that my club lost the Premier League title to the Cityzens.
I wasn’t looking forward to a Man City win, although, I knew that they were going to win but I was rooting for Inter Milan whose chances of winning I knew were a bit slim.
However, Inter really gave their best as it turned out to be a very interesting and keenly-contested UEFA Champions League final as the Italian Serie A club fought very hard.
Finally, we all know that Betwinner is one of the biggest sports betting companies in Nigeria. Having sponsored the Goalfest 2023, what should your subscribers and fans be expecting even ahead of the 2023/24 season which will kick off in August? Also, are you going to have your next event on the Mainland?
Betwinner subscribers and fans should be expecting something major from us ahead of the 2023/24 season. We have big and super exciting plans for the fans and customers to have more access to our brand.
We have great plans for them to have more physical interaction with Betwinner as well, so all I can just say for now is that we have major plans coming up, so they should stay tuned and turn up when it’s time to turn up.
