The fifth season of the very popular reality TV show BBNaija will kick off on Sunday July 19th despite the rampaging Covid-19 pandemic, organisers have announced.
Already housemates have been selected and quarantined prior to their transfer to the Big Brother House with this year’s edition promising to better Season 4’s prize money of N30million which went to Mercy Eke.
Chief Customer Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, Martin Mabutho said that the company is committed to creating “a show that is COVID-19 free”, and that they are taking extra precautions in line with the NCDC guidelines to ensure housemates’ safety.
The show will be on DSTV channel 198 and GOtv channel 29 for viewers’ delight.
The current global pandemic necessitated that the audition for Season 5 be done virtually unlike in previous seasons where halls and audition centers around the country were filled with Nigerians hoping for a spot in the house.
Nevertheless, this season promises to be better and bigger with more entertaining excitements in the show even though there will be some changes in the show.
Over thirty thousand entries were recieved for this year’s audition across the country before the final housemates where chosen through a virtual selection.
The organizers have also promised that there will be “new elements for DSTV and GOtv subscribers” this year and also higher audience engagements.
