On July 17th, 1994 Brazil beat Italy 3-2 on penalties to win the World Cup.
Brazil and Italy have already been established World Cup superpowers countries after winning the tournament on multiple occasions before the 1994 FIFA World Cup which was hosted by the United States of America (USA).
The game supposed to be a glamorous final between Roberto Baggio and Romario championing two great sides but no goal was scored in 90 minutes and extra-time which led to penalties.
Demetrio Albertini and Alberigo Evani scored for Italy, but Franco Baresi, Daniele Massaro and Roberto Baggio all missed their spot kicks.
Only Márcio Santos missed while Romário, Branco and captain Dunga all scored as Brazil were crowned 1994 FIFA World Cup champions in front of 94,194 fans in attendance at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena USA.
