
The men’s senior basketball team of Nigeria, D’Tigers have qualified for the 2025 Afrobasket tournament.
D”Tigers qualified before stepping on to the court before their final game of the second window against Cape Verde.
The D’Tigers started the qualification series with 0-3 scoreline having lost all their matches in the first window a year ago.
However, the team made a strong comeback as they beat the same opponents they lost to a year ago – Libya, Uganda and Cape Verde.
D’Tigers wrapped up the window with another impressive performance as they beat Cape Verde for the first time after four attempts.

Caleb Agada once again stole the show as he scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists on the night.
D’Tigers dominated in three of the four quarters with the second being the most dominant as they outscored Cape Verde 26-7.
The Island nation came back strong in the third with a 21-13 win but the D’Tigers responded in the last quarter with a 9-0 run and wrapped up it up 16-8.
Talib Zanna and Ike Nwamu scored 24 points as the D’Tigers completed an impressive turnaround to qualify for the tournament scheduled for Angola later this year.
